Kiel Long

Mind Drops

Kiel is a multidisciplinary artist that works with information gathered from brain wave activity readings to form interactive installations and audio-visual works.

The static organ is created with the aim of being both audio and visual representations of brainwave patterns. The media can be considered in two sections, a selection of live installation pieces and a series of works created using data that is pre-recorded. There are two advantages to displaying the works in this way, firstly having the data manipulating and generating visuals and audio live allows viewers of the work to see how it is effected by simple things and gives a better insight to the work and how one might control the output. However having the data pre-recorded and developed into audio-visual pieces allows for greater flexibility and control over the aesthetics of the sound and visual.
